1. Tie a thin rope about 10-15 cm long to the far end of veterinary digital thermometer.
2. When measuring body temperature, apply a little lubricant on the thermometer, then hold the animal's tail with one hand, and insert the thermometer slightly to the dorsal side into the anus with the other hand.

Whether it is necessary to add 0.5℃ when measuring with an electronic thermometer cannot be generalized. However, the time of staying in the axillary must be 3-5 minutes, or even longer, to be considered the standard measurement time.
If an electronic thermometer is used to measure the axillary temperature, the electronic thermometer will make a buzzing sound when it is measured in the axillary for 2 minutes. If the thermometer is taken out immediately after the buzzing sound is heard, the reading at this time will be lower than that of the mercury thermometer, so it is necessary to add 0.5℃ for correction.
