It is recommended to start fetal heart monitoring after 15 weeks, with a maximum of 3 monitoring times a day, 1 minute each time. Before monitoring, the mother needs to remain calm and take a 120° supine position. The explorer needs to pay attention to the temperature and weight of his palms, with four fingers flat, and no force on the fingertips. Each monitoring must first determine the fetal position, which can be done with a stethoscope and reference to relevant materials. During the 4th to 6th month of pregnancy, it is approximately above the navel, and sometimes even 1 to 2 cm above the pubic area. This requires reference to the doctor's advice. It is not recommended to use hands for strong pressing and exploration to avoid causing a defensive reflex in pregnant women. The fetal heart monitor needs to be placed on the back of the fetus. Be sure to use sufficient coupling agent after cleaning the probe and skin, press lightly to fit the skin, and move slowly to search. The volume should not be too loud at the beginning to avoid disturbing the pregnant woman. It is recommended to monitor for 1 minute each time and estimate the fetal heart rate. The normal fetal heart rate is 120-160 beats per minute. If it exceeds this range or varies in speed, it may indicate intrauterine distress and needs to be monitored continuously to rule out maternal tachycardia or fetal activity. The monitoring should be continued for up to 10 minutes. If it cannot be ruled out, the patient needs to be sent to the doctor for further examination.
