Some knowledge about the use and maintenance of hearing aids
With the improvement of people's living standards, "hearing clearly and listening comfortably" has become the goal that everyone pursues. Therefore, more and more people know and wear hearing aids. In the actual matching, we can often hear questions such as "hearing aids can be used for several years", "will the hearing aids be damaged frequently", etc. This shows that everyone is not very familiar with the use and maintenance of hearing aids.
As we all know, hearing aids are very sophisticated electronic products. Their internal components are small and compact, and they often accompany you to participate in various social activities. The working environment is relatively complicated, so they are more prone to malfunctions than other home appliances. To extend the service life of hearing aids and reduce the failure rate of hearing aids, it is necessary to work hard on the use and maintenance of hearing aids and provide a good working environment for hearing aids.
Now let's talk about the appearance of hearing aids, namely box type, behind-the-ear type, and in-ear type (including in-ear type, ear canal type, and deep ear canal type).
(1) The box-type hearing aid is to connect the hearing aid and the earphone (receiver) with a wire. Do not put it on the clothes when using it, and put the earphone with earplugs in the ear. This kind of hearing aid is relatively simple and reliable. When using it, pay attention to:
①Do not break the wire or break the earphone.
②Do not use excessive force when adjusting the switch and volume potentiometer, and do not use a sharp and hard screwdriver to poke the microphone.
③Regularly clean the surface of the hearing aid and the earwax in the earplugs.
(2) Behind-the-ear hearing aids are worn behind the ears, and the sound is transmitted to the ears through ear molds or earplugs. Sweat has many chances of causing damage to BTE hearing aids. Sweat is also corrosive to hearing aids. Daily maintenance must pay attention to:
① Wipe the hearing aid with a soft dry cloth or cotton paper to keep the skin behind the ear and the hearing aid clean, free of sweat and dust.
②The earmold should be kept clean. If earwax and dirt are blocking the sound outlet, sound channel, or vent, it must be cleaned. Before cleaning, remove the hearing aid from the earmold, clean it with special cleaning tools and brushes, and then rinse it with warm water and mild detergent. After cleaning, completely dry the sound channels and vents of the earmold. Do not use alcohol to clean the ear molds. If the sound tube on the earmold is aging, hard, yellow, or cracked, replace it immediately.
③Put the hearing aids in a drying box regularly to remove moisture that penetrates into the hearing aids.
④ Operate the switch and potentiometer carefully like the box-type hearing aid mentioned earlier. Failure of switches and potentiometers can cause poor contact and noise in the hearing aids.
(3) In-ear type (including in-ear type, ear canal type, and deep ear canal type) hearing aids are placed directly in the ears when used. Its small size, beautiful wearing effect, and convenient to make phone calls. Please note in normal use:
① Wear and remove hearing aids carefully on objects with soft surfaces (such as beds, sofas, etc.), and do not drop them on hard objects.
②Clean the hearing aids at least twice a week. If there is more earwax, you should increase the number of cleanings. Clean the surface with a soft dry cloth and cotton ball, and use a brush to remove the earwax around the sound outlet and vent (because the sound outlet is blocked, the sound will be reduced at a low level, and the receiver will be damaged if it is heavy). Remember not to wash with water. If the sound outlet of the hearing aid is equipped with a cerumen-proof baffle, the baffle can be removed to remove earwax, to ensure that the cerumen baffle is completely clean, and even if a new baffle is replaced, keep the ear canal clean and hygienic.
③ Never insert any utensils directly into the soundhole and vent hole.
④Put the hearing aids in a drying box regularly to remove moisture that penetrates into the hearing aids.
Finally, remind everyone that if you do not wear a hearing aid for a long time, you should take out the battery, because battery leakage can cause serious damage to the hearing aid movement. Do not wear hearing aids during bathing, washing your face, raining, beauty and make-up, etc., to avoid mechanical collisions with hearing aids, and do not try to repair hearing aids yourself. Hearing aids should be stored in a cool, dry place, not in a high temperature, humid place, and always carefully read the hearing aid instruction manual.
If you use it carefully and maintain it carefully, and provide a good working environment for your hearing aids, you will surely be rewarded with a stable working condition and a long service life.
