There are mainly two types of digital laser infrared thermometer, and one needs to be touched on the skin, and another can read from a distance. Now, let's see the steps to get a quick and right reading for both types below.

Step 1: If you have a forehead thermometer that uses infrared technology, you will only have to hold it from a distance pointing directly towards the forehead. It will automatically show the temperature almost instantly.

Step 2: Now, for the other type of digital laser infrared thermometer that needs to be placed on the forehead, you should know that it reads the heat waves coming off the temporal artery, which is directly under your skin.

Step 3: Take the thermometer in your hand, turn it on, and wait a bit for it to come online fully.

Step 4: Next, place the sensor part of the thermometer directly in the middle of the forehead and slowly move it to the ear's upper portion.

Step 5: While moving it to the ear, don't lose contact with the skin and stop as soon as you reach the hairline.

This will get you the reading correctly if you have bought a machine with the highest quality. Otherwise, the sensors won't work right, and you will get an incorrect reading.
