How do you use the blood glucose meters?

Use a lancet to prick your finger. Squeezing from the base of the finger, gently place a small amount of blood onto the test strip. Place the strip in the meter. After a few seconds, the reading will appear.

How do blood glucose monitors work?

The sensor measures the level of glucose in the interstitial fluid (fluid surrounding the cell) every 10 seconds and changes it into an electrical signal. The signal represents the amount of sugar in the blood. A small transmitter attaches to the sensor.

About Efficient Blood Glucose Meter

The following points should be paid attention to when measuring :

a. Blood glucose values measured at different times are not comparable. It is recommended that you check your blood sugar at home or compare your data at the same time every day.

b. Affected by insomnia, mood swings and other reasons. Fasting blood glucose measured in these cases cannot reflect the real situation, so it must be treated according to the symptoms, rather than adjusting hypoglycemic drugs.

c. Improper selection of disinfectant, iodine or iodophor disinfection, the latter will react with the test strips of the efficient blood glucose meter, resulting in high test results. Therefore, 75% alcohol should be used for disinfection during blood collection, and the alcohol should be tested after drying.

d. The blood collection method is not correct. If the blood collection amount is insufficient during the test, the test will fail or the measured result will be low. If the blood drops are too large and spill over the test area, the results can also be affected. It is recommended that when finger blood is collected, the needle depth should be appropriate to avoid squeezing fingers.

e. No code adjustment before test. Before the test, check and adjust the code displayed by the efficient blood glucose meter to be consistent with the code on the test strip packaging box.
