Is there any harm to the body if you use the forehead thermometer frequently?

How does the forehead thermometer work?
Common temperature measurement equipment mainly includes mercury thermometers, digital thermometers and infrared thermometers. The measurement principles of these three thermometers are different. The forehead temperature gun that we commonly use to measure the forehead is a non-contact infrared thermometer. Infrared radiation is the most widespread electromagnetic wave radiation in nature. Objects with a temperature above absolute zero (-273.15℃) will radiate infrared rays due to their own molecular movement. The infrared rays radiated by the human body are collected by the detector of the non-contact infrared thermometer, and then the radiation power signal is converted into an electrical signal. After correction according to a certain algorithm and target emissivity, temperature measurement can be achieved.
Is it accurate to measure wrist with forehead thermometer?
Body temperature is an important vital sign of the human body and one of the important indicators reflecting health status. Recently, some places use wrist temperature measurement instead of forehead temperature. In fact, this method of temperature measurement is not advisable. From the physiological structure of the wrist, there are dense blood vessels and thin subcutaneous tissue at the wrist. There is an obvious temperature difference between the vascular and non-vascular areas, which often exceeds plus or minus 1°C. It is impossible to output a stable measurement value. Evaluating the wrist temperature alone has no measurement value. When the human body temperature fluctuates, it will adjust the peripheral blood vessels to dilate or contract to regulate the body temperature. As the body temperature rises, the temperature of the hands and feet (including wrists and ankles) should be cooler than usual due to the contraction of peripheral blood vessels; when the body temperature reaches a low temperature stability, the skin blood vessels expand and the skin surface temperature rises, so the temperature at the wrist may be higher than usual. Therefore, you need to check the user manual when using the thermometer.
Why is there a large error when measuring body temperature? What are the influencing factors?
Using a non-contact infrared thermometer seems simple, but if you do not understand the measurement principles and methods, the measured temperature results will have large errors.
First, ensure that the instrument is used in a normal working environment with temperature, humidity, etc. that meet its technical indicators; second, some thermometers have two functions: surface temperature and body temperature. You should select the body temperature mode and the unit of measurement should be degrees Celsius. Finally, the forehead of the person being measured must be free of sweat, hair, dust, hats and other debris. When using, aim the forehead thermometer at the center of the forehead - above the eyebrows, and keep it vertical, with a distance of 3cm-5cm for body temperature measurement.
